Native American Research Workshop with Lamar County Genealogical Society

Lamar County Genealogical Society will host a workshop on Native American Research on Saturday, November 16, 2013 from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Speaker will be Jason Felihkatubbe who is a member of the Choctaw Nation. Jason has been doing genealogical research for over 18 years and his focus is Native American Indian genealogy, with an emphasis on the southeastern peoples–Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Muscogee, and Seminole in Indian Territory/Oklahoma. Apart from research, he offers lectures and classes on Native American Indian genealogy, culture, and history at the Mid-America All Indian Center and Butler Community College in Kansas. He is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists. In the last 11 years, he has been involved with several Native American websites for over 11 years.

Cost of the workshop is $10.00. Lunch is not provided so please bring a sack lunch. Space is limited. There will be no genealogical society regular meeting on November 12.
