Join TSGS on a Journey of Transformation in 2014.

Texas State Genealogical Society is on a Journey of Transformation in 2014.

And we want you to understand we’re serious about this transformation.

And we’re excited about it too.

And we could have just mentioned some of the new planned benefits (Well, the ones we can tell you about right now.):

  • TSGS Blog – TSGS will be publishing timely and consistent blog posts concerning the genealogical community (especially Texas) such as research how-to’s; records availability; news; technology; DNA; and Partner Society events (non-regular meetings); Partner Society spotlight; and more.
  • TSGS Weekly eNews – TSGS will be publishing a weekly electronic newsletter which will have additional valuable genealogical information & news, a round up of all the TSGS blog posts for the month, reminders of upcoming Partner Society events, and more. This will be free and available to everyone who subscribes to it.
  • Redesigned TSGS Website – TSGS will be making functional and design changes to its website over the coming months to make it work better for you each time you visit and use our resources.
  • Resources Pages – TSGS will be adding 2 resources webpages — one for Partner Societies and one for individual members — both carefully curated for your society and research needs.
  • Publicity and Promotion – TSGS will be providing publicity and promotion for Partner Society events (not regular meetings) on the TSGS online calendar; on the TSGS Blog; on the new TSGS Email Newsletter; and on all the TSGS social media networks which reach members and potential members all across the world.
  • Archival Support for Partner Societies – Our Archivist is offering access to a collection of Archiving Best Practices for Managing Society Archives as well as consultations with her on archiving issues.
  • TSGS Partner Society Newsletter – All Partner Societies will receive a bi-monthly society newsletter which will address issues we all face in managing partner societies — their successes and challenges. And during our transformation, we’ll be taking notes of everything that works and everything that doesn’t work so we can help you transform as well. We will share with you the tools and methods we find successful to help you make your transformation a little easier.
  • Webinars – TSGS will be bringing you access to educational content via webinars. Stay tuned for more details.

And then we could have just asked you to join us, crossed our fingers, and hoped for the best.

But we thought you deserved something more than that to prove just how serious (and excited) we are about you joining us on this journey of transformation in 2014.

As you may or may not know TSGS will be local co-hosts with the San Antonio Genealogical and Historical Society for the Federation of Genealogical Societies 2014 Conference, Gone to Texas, in San Antonio, Texas, August 27-30, 2014.

And we’d really like to see you there. So we decided to give away a full FGS 2014 Gone to Texas Registration.

Here is how to qualify for a chance to win:

Partner Societies:

  • If you join TSGS for 2014 by March 2, 2014 (Texas Independence Day), you get one entry into the drawing.

Individual/Family Members:

  • If you join TSGS for 2014 by March 2, 2014 (Texas Independence Day), you get one entry into the drawing.

So, as you can see, we’re pretty serious (and excited) about our Journey of Transformation.

And we’re pretty serious (and excited) about you joining TSGS in 2014.

We’d love to have you along for the journey.

Will you join us?
