Membership is open to any person or organization that is interested in researching and preserving genealogical and historical records. 

Membership Categories

  • Personal Memberships: Individuals or households for $40 per year. A household membership consists of two persons living at the same address.
  • Partner Society Memberships: Genealogical societies for $40 per year.
  • Other Partners: For Museums, Historical Societies, Lineage Societies, or Libraries who want some of the benefit of TxSGS programming, $40 per year.
  • Libraries: Subscription only to Stirpes for $40 per year.

Member Benefits for Individuals

Stirpes
Journal with helpful research articles, county records, family histories, review, queries, and other material of genealogical interest, provided as a subscription of four issues per membership year. All personal members automatically receive the digital edition of Stirpes. Members may subscribe to the print edition for a $20 annual fee. Back issues, if available, may be purchased at the current back issue price.

State Conference Discount
TxSGS hosts a state conference each year with workshops and seminars featuring nationally known speakers and the very popular awards banquet.

Writing Awards
There are separate Partner Society and Individual Writing Awards contests. Winners are announced the Annual Business Meeting and Awards Ceremony each fall.

Website Awards
There are separate Partner Society and Individual Website Awards contests. Winners are announced the Annual Business Meeting and Awards Ceremony each fall.

Stirpes Online
The first 40 volumes from 1961-2000 of our journal, Stirpes, have been scanned and placed on The Portal to Texas History web site. They are fully searchable and can be found at: http://texashistory.unt.edu/browse/contributor/TSGS/
