The following genealogical events are currently scheduled. This calendar includes Partner Societies that are offering one-day or multiple-day workshops and seminars, as well as national and international conferences. It does not include monthly meetings.

Hopkins County Genealogical Society Annual Seminar Saturday
Speaker: Ari Wilkins
Ms. Wilkins speaks nationally and locally. She has had the honor to speak at the National Genealogical Society, Federation of Genealogical Societies, Texas State Genealogical Society, Ohio Genealogical Society, Institute of Genealogical and Historical Research, Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy, American Library Association, RootsTech, and a multitude of local societies. A graduate of Louisiana State University, Ms. Wilkins has been actively researching family history since 1998, specializing in African American research.

Black and White Families in Southern Plantation Records
Southern antebellum plantation records can offer valuable insights into both white and African American families. This session explores how these records are organized, how to search them, and how to use correspondence, business papers, and other documents to uncover family connections and historical context. Case studies will show how the records document a white Southern family directly and an African American family indirectly.
Mysterious Relatives
Who is that unknown person in the household, or the “cousin” signing a family letter? This session looks at how cluster research can help identify mysterious people and clarify their relationship to your family.
Reconstructing Communities Using Sanborn Maps, Census Records, and City Directories
Reconstructing neighborhoods can reveal rich details about an ancestor’s daily life and surroundings. This session demonstrates how to use Sanborn maps, census records, and city directories to rebuild communities in Google Maps.
