You can tap into our publicity network by sending us news about your events, meetings, projects, and more for inclusion on TxSGS’s online genealogy calendar. Since calendar events are featured on our home page, your event might receive “home page billing.” Be sure to send flyers and press releases; we link the flyers to calendar events and use the press releases in our publications. Partner Society Roundup
This collection of society articles plus short event summaries organized by district designation appears in each issue of Stirpes. Inclusion of your society’s past and future events in “Partner Society Roundup” shows potential members that your society is active and has a genealogical impact in your community. It also directs the attention of persons living in a particular district to your society.
Societies are encouraged to submit to Stirpes one or two page articles about projects or programs (Sample Society Article) and short summaries of events, programs, leadership changes, and more (see Partner Society Roundup Articles). Photos are always welcome! See Stirpes Guidelines for image requirements and submission guidelines.
Stirpes Ads
Each partner society can advertise in Stirpes for free, providing exposure for workshops, seminars, and special events. Stirpes’ Partner Society ad space is allotted on a first-come basis. See deadlines and advertising guidelines and a few sample Partner Society Ads.
Online Resources feature Partner Societies
TxSGS’s Partner Society Listing and District Resource Listings (accessed through the District Map) direct genealogists and potential members toward Partner Societies. Partner Society names in the District Resource Listings link directly to the Partner Society’s website or Facebook page.
Exhibit Space at our Annual Conference
Discounted exhibit space is available at the TxSGS Family History Conference for all Partner Societies. This opportunity is perfect for promoting your society, selling genealogical books and materials, and increasing the visibility of your society among Texas genealogists. Small societies may consider teaming with another partner society at one table to manage costs and volunteer duties. Information about selecting exhibit space is published on the TxSGS website as part of the conference information.
