Society Leadership Forum: September 2021

We will be meeting virtually again on September 11, 2021 from 9:00 to 11:00 am CDT.

The format of this meeting will be discussion following a presentation by La Donna Garner.

LaDonna Garner, M.A., R.V.T. is a consultant focused on historical preservation and genealogical research in and outside Southeast Missouri. She lectures often on both subjects at conferences and as an instructor for the Continued Education Program at St. Louis Community College. Garner is an active member of the Association of Professional Genealogist’s on the Board of Directors,  volunteers for the National Genealogical Society, and numerous organizations in various capacities. Her presentation it titled “Restructuring Societies: Recruiting Leadership & Retaining Engaged Volunteers” which will focus on retaining and recruiting society leadership.

Following LaDonna’s presentation Emily Richardson will make a short presentation and lead a discussion about creating and managing Special Interest Groups.

  • Participation for this event will be restricted to leaders and members of current TxSGS Partner Societies.
  • A handout for La Donna’s presentation will be provided to registered attendees on the day of the event.
  • The event will be recorded, but access to La Donna Garner’s presentation will only be provided to registered participants through 11 October 2021.
