Reminder: TxSGS 2020 Conference Call for Papers Deadline is February 15

There’s still time to inspire genealogists with your knowledge and passion!
The Texas State Genealogical Society Call for Presentations for our 2020 Family History Conference deadline for proposals is February 15, 2020. This year’s conference will be held November 13-15 in Dallas (Irving), Texas, at the Omni Mandalay Hotel Las Colinas at 221 Las Colinas Boulevard, Dallas (Irving), Texas 75039, (972) 556-0800.

We are looking for dynamic, enthusiastic presenters!  Seasoned speakers and speakers new to the genealogical lecturing arena are encouraged to submit proposals for presentations and/or workshops. Previous speakers have referred to the TxSGS Conference as having “…friendly people, great talks” and being “a very well-run conference.” We hope you’ll join us!

Submission Ideas

The areas of interest may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Basic genealogical topics (How-To or Getting Started)
  • Ethnic research topics (African-American, Hispanic, German-Texan, Native American, Czech-Texan, etc.)
  • Records & Repositories (land, probate, tax, court, and other records)
  • Research in Texas and other southern states
  • DNA Technology
  • Methodology and problem-solving techniques
  • Writing, Storytelling, & Publishing
  • Genealogical Society Leadership
  • Record Analysis & Skill Building.

Speakers who wish to submit lecture or workshop proposal should follow the published guidelines at the TxSGS Call for Presentations web page: https://www.txsgs.org/2020-conference/call-for-presentations. The latest information on presenter requirements, compensation for 2020, and a timeline are referenced there as well.

Speakers may submit up to five proposals for presentations or workshops via the online Submission Form.

All proposals must be submitted no later than February 15, 2020.
